push the button. add sadness.

to continue
after 10 years, the songs of Sick April still pound in my head like unfinished business. sickApril will complete some of those earlier songs and continue on with new songs. Matt signs up for this task playing various keyboards and guitars. And Ash shares the stage to pound out sicks rhythmic patterns.

"morning has been a long time coming..." with the attempt to make something, to describe something, i've learned what the loss of time means. it has been so long since seeing the possibility of a release. and now its time to create a live version of all the sounds that vibrate in my head. the first "official" release in years, "the beauty of wounds" will be available this year.

a start
born in 1987 as an outlet for Tod and Len Vickory, Sick April's main influences were Einsturnzende Neubauten, The Swans, Coil, Bauhaus, Cindytalk, Joy Division, Dead Can Dance, This Mortal Coil, Tibetan chants and noise.

during 1988, 'my cock world' was released. limited cassette-only release described as "grinding sludge rock", 'my cock world' reflected songs performed at an emotional level. where technique was less important than pure release. those repeating parts and long sustaining notes could tell much more.

after several live dates in northern ohio, Sick April added a third member - Rob Brose. Where is Rob? Rob added more keyboards and samples to the sound as well as dynamic ideas in the recording/ songwriting process.

a second Sick April release, 'glare', planned for a 1990 pressing never made it passed the demo stage and Sick April disbanded during this time. the members went on to pursue other walks of life...
